The Widening Participation Program is a university wide project  to raise awareness and stimulate demand for university study, specifically from students from low socio-economic (SES) backgrounds. Each QUT Faculty offers a range of programs and the Creative Industries Faculty provides innovative in-school learning experiences that reflect the Faculty’s courses and their career opportunities.

School Based Programs

Students Working Hard

We offer a series of school-based learning experiences across the Faculty disciplines. These programs are delivered into QUT’s targeted schools in Brisbane’s northern region over a four to six week period.

Programs are designed and facilitated by QUT Creative Industries staff and student ambassadors and provide an opportunity for students to engage in curriculum related and meaningful activities, learn more about Creative Industries courses and their employment opportunities.

See Programs in the main menu for a list of all our in-school programs.

Explore Uni Days

Students Balinese DancingWe also run activities as part of university-wide Explore Uni days.

School students come to QUT’s Kelvin Grove and garden’s Point campuses and learn about the different faculties, courses and opportunities through mini-talks from current students and faculty-based activities.

The Creative Industries provides activities in Communication, Dance, Singing, Design, Entertainment and Fashion.
